Relatos de Luz – Projections of Memory
Casa Cultural invites you to a special presentation of Relatos de Luz en Noruega – Proyecciones de memoria, a visual exhibition and screening created by Corporación Traitraico (Chile).
This presentation brings together a selection of artworks developed over six years of the project “Relatos de Luz” in Chile, combining microdocumentaries, video art, photography, and new media.
Relatos de Luz is an itinerant visual art project that collects testimonies from Indigenous communities affected by extractive industries. Through innovative visual media and environmentally conscious technologies, the project projects meaningful images onto landscapes, using the territory itself as a canvas.
The project seeks to make visible socioenvironmental conflicts while safeguarding the cosmovision, spirituality, and ancestral knowledge of Indigenous cultures that protect their territories.
The works presented in this exhibition reflect the worldview and resistance of several Indigenous peoples, including:
• The Mapuche communities living near the sacred Pilmaiken River, surrounded by ancient Araucaria forests
• The southern Indigenous peoples Kawésqar, Yagán, and Selk’nam, whose cultures have been deeply connected to the sea for generations
Through these stories and images, the project invites us to reflect on the sacred value of water, nature, memory, and territory, exploring their spiritual and cultural significance from Indigenous perspectives.
