Hi! Welcome to join this years most amazing week as a volunteer at Love Slettheia Summer Camp situated in Slettheia, a suburb in Kristiansand, southern Norway 🇳🇴

This is for you who want to make a difference in some children's lives this summer! Joining as a leader of the summer camp 2025 at Slettheia is something you will not regret :) This camp is organised and run by OM Norway and it is free for the children who live in Slettheia and the surrounding areas. For some, it may be their first time attending a camp. 😄

This is a unique opportunity for anyone who wishes to share their faith with children and families from other religious communities, and be challenged and grow in following Jesus. And you will absolutely LOVE being with these lovely children 🙂

There are several different tasks you can contribute with at the camp:

We are in need of someone who is skilled in a particular art form, such as singing, dancing, or playing an instrument - who could lead an activity for 2 x 45 minutes from Monday to Friday. You can also assist and help those who lead the activity. It would be great if the children could showcase something from the activity on Friday when we invite parents and grandparents to come.

Suggestions for activities are:

Singing and music

Baking

Scrapbooking

Painting

Drawing

Cutting and pasting

Photography

Drama

Dance

Small woodworking

Sports

We need adult leaders and teenagers from 14 years old, who would take responsibility for a group of children (around five children in each group with one adult and one teenager). This way, they get to know the children and their needs well. They sit with the children during Bible stories, do competitions with them, and accompany them to the various activities.

We need someone who wants to pray in a prayer room, pray for the children at the camp, be there for the children if someone wants to talk, and teach them how to pray. Last year, the children could write a prayer to God which they posted on the wall. There are also colored pencils and pictures with Bible verses for the children to color.

We also need someone for practical tasks such as picking up and dropping off children who want to attend the camp if parents don't have a car or if the children are too young to go to school alone. Also, to buy things we suddenly need, help move things, tidy up, and prepare things, in short, to be an extra hand.

We get to borrow Vågsbygd Free Church where we can pray, sleep, eat, prepare, worship, have team life, etc. Those who are staff and come from outside will stay here during the whole week. If several young people are involved, they can also stay here and get a real camp feeling (just that it will be a camp where they are GIVERS and not just "RECEIVERS"😄).

Price: For adults who can afford it, it costs 1,500 NOK to be there for the whole week with accommodation, food, and activities. For teenagers it costs only 500 NOK (14-17 years old)
