Nasjonalbibliotekets kartsenter inneholder verdens mest omfattende samling av trykte kart over Norge, Norden og nordområdene. De eldste av disse kartene er fra 1482, de nyeste fra slutten av 1800-tallet. Sammenstilt utgjør kartene både en historie om kunnskapen om Nordens geografi og en bred beretning om kartenes og selve geografiens utvikling.
